Working with children adolescents parents and schools.
After an initial assessment to determine the model of therapy best suited to the child, Diana Sharp Consultancy offers one to one or group counselling.
Displaying empathy and sensitivity, coupled with a sense of focus and firm boundaries, we help and support the child to reach positive decisions which also take into account their environment. We aim to empower the individual to make healthy choices throughout their lives.
We offer group family therapy and, if needed, support for each family member respectively as well as extended family members, if this is felt appropriate.
At times we recommend the 12 Step Fellowships for additional support. Liaising between family and schools is also encouraged, whilst maintaining the confidentially of the individual at all times.
Whilst working with the individual and family, Diana Sharp Consultancy offers aid and guidance to the school in how best to support the pupil.
We also recognise that peers and staff involved may be affected by the issue and are in a position to give advice and support at all times.
We provide the school with a twenty-four seven emergency number should any concerns arise whilst working with the individual, and any information shared is held in the strictest confidence.
Diana has worked closely with us for over a decade.
We value immensely her wisdom, insight, expertise and care.

We provide assessments specifically tailored to meet your requirements.
Mental Health problems are increasingly common and can have a chronic and debilitating impact on the life of the individual. We combine our specialist and therapeutic expertise to provide help for depression, anxieties, post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive compulsive disorders.
Alcohol and drug abuse, particularly amongst children and adolescents, are the most widespread and destructive behaviours today. The impact these behaviours cause to the individual, their family, peers and schools are devastating.
These include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and compulsive overeating. We address issues such as perfectionism, control and the chronic nature that is central to eating disorders.
As eating disorders are unique, each recovery program is individually tailored, working towards self-acceptance and encouraging the individual on the path to recovery.
For some individuals, self-harm can be a coping mechanism when confronted with overwhelming feelings of pain and distress. By hurting themselves, but without suicidal intent, they may feel better for a short period and more able to manage their lives. The most common behaviours of self-harm include: scratching, cutting, burning or scalding, hair pulling, scouring or scrubbing the body, swallowing harmful substances, etc.
An individual's struggle with behavioural issues can reverberate throughout their peer group. Whilst peers wish to remain extremely loyal and supportive to the individual, the impact of the issues on others can be overwhelming. It is often exceptionally challenging for peers to understand and know when it is appropriate to continue to enable the individual or to seek help.
This is an ever expanding, sensitive topic. Diana Sharp Consultancy are highly aware of how complex an issue bullying is for the victim, the bully, families, peers and schools. In light of this all our assessments are unique, taking into account the many guises bullying can take.
Diana Sharp is an outstanding practitioner, sympathetic but firm, focussed on helping her clients to rebuild their self esteem and their lives. I recommend her without reservation and would be happy to talk to any school who might be considering the use of her services.

Appropriate referrals made to specialists in the following fields:
It is most important that the Family or School Doctor is kept informed of any medical or mental health issue with regards to one of their patients.
Whilst maintaining confidentiality, the sharing of appropriate information is important so that the patient is receiving the best support possible.
In such cases as Eating Disorders it is important to have support from either a Nutritionist or Dietician, whichever is appropriate to the individual; therefore, a referral will be suggested to the individual and family respectively.
We work with a number of private treatment facilities, not only in the UK but also in the USA and South Africa.
The facilities excel in treating behavioural health issues, including treatment for addictions to alcohol, illegal drugs and prescription medication, eating disorders, anxiety and depression and process addictions including sex and love addiction, gambling addiction and codependency.
A Mediator is trained to facilitate the communication process between the parties by skilfully navigating through difficult and highly emotional issues, bringing an independent perspective to the table in a safe, supportive and confidential environment.
The mediator acts impartially, assisting the parties both jointly and separately to reach consensus.
